Westside Community Market was founded in 2012. Latron Price is the co-owner and the managing operator of the food facility.
Latron has a wealth of experience in supply chain management, public advocacy, and global relief efforts. He began conceptualizing the Westside Community Market after his trip to Africa, where he learned about agriculture. He realized that local producers and farmers in his community needed access to facilities and services that would enable them to streamline the process of bringing their products to consumers. Apart from storage services, they needed incubator office spaces.
Westside Community Market spans 65,000 square feet. It boasts of the largest cold storage pallet rental services in Atlanta. Its strategic spot used to be the production and distribution center of Buckhead Beef, which is a specialty meat company.
That said, Westside Community Market is a multi-functional hub that serves as a venue for consumers to be more aware of local producers and farmers. In line with this, it also creates more jobs and brings in more income for the community. Westside Community Market wants to cultivate a culture of socially responsible production and consumption.
